Mayer Brown appoints Ben McCosker as Counsel
Ben McCosker, Restructuring lawyer, has joined Mayer Brown as Counsel in Hong Kong. Previously, till 2021, McCosker was a counsel at offshore law firm Walkers for more than five years in Hong Kong. Later he moved to London and joined Campbells as counsel.
McCosker confided that he can foresee true opportunity in the Hong Kong restructuring market in future as a gateway jurisdiction. It's due to the long-term market instability in 2021 following the property market distress and the continuing drag of the covid-19 pandemic on the regional economy.
McCosker's extensive experience includes more than a decade in Australia, Hong Kong, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands. He has represented creditors, shareholders and companies in contentious and non-contentious special situations, insolvency and restructuring matters. His emphasis is on complex multi-jurisdictional restructuring transactions.
