Craig Stanfield Joins Paul Hastings As Partner To Strengthen Litigation Practice In Houston
Paul Hastings LLP has announced the addition of first-chair trial lawyer Craig Stanfield as a partner in its Houston office, reinforcing the firm’s leading litigation practice and expanding its presence in Texas. Stanfield brings extensive trial experience in high-stakes litigation across federal and state courts, with a focus on Texas jurisdictions. He represents clients in key industries, including manufacturing, automotive, energy, aviation, financial services, computer software, and chemical sectors.
Firm Chair Frank Lopez welcomed Stanfield’s arrival, said, “Craig’s addition reinforces our commitment to the strategic expansion of our Texas offerings, including our premier litigation platform. His expertise as a first-chair trial lawyer in high-profile cases enhances our ability to take complex matters through trial as we continue to gain market share both locally and globally.”
Recognized as a “Future Star” by Benchmark Litigation, Stanfield has extensive trial experience in complex commercial, product liability, environmental, construction, and insurance recovery matters. Before entering private practice, he clerked for Judge Wanda Fowler of the Texas Court of Appeals in Houston. His clients have included ConocoPhillips, Daikin, EDF, International Paper, Shell Oil, Sunny Sky Products, Tenaska Power Services, and Third Coast.
Stanfield joins Paul Hastings from King & Spalding LLP and follows a series of strategic hires that have significantly expanded the firm’s Texas litigation team. “It’s been hard to ignore Paul Hastings’ exponential growth in Texas,” said Stanfield. “I’m excited to be a part of the firm’s success story and for my clients to benefit from its robust litigation platform.”
Paul Hastings continues its growth in Texas, having more than tripled its headcount to over 100 lawyers in the past year. The firm plans to move into new offices in both Dallas and Houston as part of its expansion strategy.
