Workbox, US Flexible Office Provider, Appoints Kristen Benson as First General Counsel

Workbox, a flexible office space provider based in Chicago, has appointed Kristen Benson as its inaugural General Counsel. With over 25 years of legal expertise, Benson joins the company from Care Capital Properties, where she held the positions of General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

In her new role at Workbox, Benson will oversee the company's legal operations, focusing on enhancing legal processes and managing corporate risk. She will provide guidance on matters including real estate partnerships, corporate structure, and the company's in-house venture fund, Workbox Ventures.

“Kristen possesses a wealth of institutional knowledge and her experience in real estate will be critical to us successfully reimagining the flex operator and landlord relationship in this new era of work,” John Wallace, CEO and co-founder of Workbox, said.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Kristen Benson had a tenure of two years at Care Capital Properties before its acquisition by Sabra Health Care REIT in 2017. Prior to that, she spent slightly over 11 years at Ventas before the spin-off of its Care Capital Properties business. Before her time in the real estate industry, Benson gained valuable experience in private practice, working at Sidley Austin for nearly seven years.

“John and his team have built an excellent company with a unique offering in the flex office market, and I look forward to working with them to help drive value for the company’s investors and contribute to its members’ success,” Benson stated.
