Taylor Wessing Hires Parham Kouchikali As Partner In Disputes Practice In London

For nine years, he served at RPC in London

International law firm Taylor Wessing has added Parham Kouchikali to give a fillip to its financial disputes practice.

He focuses on high-profile and complex financial services litigation and is an expert in banking disputes and civil fraud.

His notable experience was as a lead partner in the Steinhoff case litigation. The local media labeled it as one of South Africa’s biggest corporate frauds.

Andrew Howell, the UK head of disputes at Taylor Wessing remarked, “Kouchikali’s expertise would strengthen the firm’s offering for premium cross-border commercial litigation. He had said that the move was client-led, giving him the opportunity to continue to act on the most complex, cross-border financial litigation and civil fraud matters.”

Kouchikali has considerable experience in crisis management and FCA investigations. He acted for individuals in a regulatory setting.

For 11 years, he served at the Magic Circle law firm Linklaters, known for its strong retail and investment banking client base. He was seconded to key the firm’s clients Goldman Sachs and RBS.

On joining RPC in 2015, he led its Ethnicity Work Stream, tackling racial diversity. He recruited, trained and retained solicitors in disputes. With his large and varied client base, he advised continental banks, hedge funds, family offices and high-net-worth investors, commensurate with the firm’s ambitions.

Initially, he worked closely with Partners Richard Burger and Robbie Constance. Later, he was offered a prominent role and worked with partners including Jonathan Cary, Simon Hart and Tom Hibbert.
