Sidley Reinforces Its Leading Position in the Energy and Infrastructure Market with the Addition of Greg Lavigne as Partner

Sidley has announced the addition of Greg Lavigne as a partner to their Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure group. Greg Lavigne has made the move to Sidley from his previous position at Allen & Overy.

Lavigne is highly respected for his contributions to the renewables, alternative energy, and energy transition sectors. He offers guidance to private capital providers and prominent sponsors in a wide range of transactions, including tax equity, private equity, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and structured finance transactions. His comprehensive expertise extends to transactions related to recycling facilities, electric vehicles, distributed energy resources, and clean fuels.

Cliff Vrielink, who serves as the global leader of the Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure practice and is a member of Sidley's Executive Committee, described Greg Lavigne's recruitment as a great addition to their team.

“Greg’s in-depth understanding of the energy transition and renewable energy market will further enhance our top-ranked energy practice,” Vrielink stated.

Nancy Chung, managing partner of the New York office and a member of Sidley’s Executive Committee, added: “We are excited to expand our energy practice. Greg’s vast experience in structuring and negotiating project finance and tax equity investments is in high demand from leading strategic and financial investors in energy, and his addition will help us expand our footprint in this area even further,”

Lavigne's arrival coincides with the recent additions of James MacArthur and Ed Freeman to the Energy, Transportation, and Infrastructure practice in London. They come as part of a five-lawyer team transitioning from Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
