K&L Gates Strengthens Tokyo Team with the addition of Project Finance Partner Dominic Gregory

K&L Gates, a prominent US law firm, has bolstered its Tokyo team with the addition of project finance specialist Dominic Gregory. Joining as a partner, Gregory brings a wealth of experience from his previous role at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner's London office.

Drawing on his extensive three-decade experience, Dominic Gregory specialises in advising on a wide range of project financings and developments across various sectors. His expertise spans mining, oil and gas, nuclear, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and infrastructure, encompassing areas such as aircraft, road, rail, ships, casinos, real estate, data centres, and battery storage.

Before his tenure at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, Gregory was associated with various law firms including Ashurst, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, White & Case, and Clifford Chance. Notably, Gregory's appointment at K&L Gates marks the firm's second project finance partner hire in Asia this year, following the recent addition of Sarah Park in Singapore.

Gregory's recruitment by K&L Gates aligns with the current trend of law firms in Japan enhancing their capabilities in the projects and project finance sectors, with a particular focus on renewables. Over the past year, several firms, including White & Case, DLA Piper, and Ashurst, have made lateral hires to strengthen their teams in this area.

The addition of Gregory brings the total number of partners at K&L Gates' Tokyo office to 14.
