Kirkland & Ellis Strengthens its Capital Markets Practice with New Partner hire

On 7 April, Kirkland & Ellis declared that Rachel Sheridan, a prominent capital markets solicitor in the country, has become a partner in the firm’s Washington D.C. office.

Sheridan has joined Kirkland from Latham & Watkins, where she was a partner in the Washington, D.C. and New York offices.

Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland’s Executive Committee, stated that Rachel Sheridan is widely recognised as one of the leading capital markets lawyers in Big Law. She is an exceptionally talented lawyer with deep experience in sophisticated debt, equity, and distressed capital markets transactions.

“We could not be more excited to have a lawyer of Rachel’s caliber join our Firm,” Jon A. Ballis said.

Sheridan’s practice is centred on capital markets transactions and involves representing a broad range of clients including private equity funds, issuers, investment banks, and public companies.

Her expertise covers a wide range of matters, including public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, buyout transactions, liability management, restructuring, and SPAC transactions.

Sheridan’s expertise in capital markets has earned her recognition as a top lawyer by both Chambers USA and The Legal 500 U.S.

“Kirkland presented an incredible opportunity to join a top capital markets team on the most formidable platform around, and I’m ready to get to work with my new colleagues and contribute to the further growth of the capital markets practice,” Sheridan said while expressing his happiness at joining the firm.
