Kirkland & Ellis Bolsters Global Tax Practice with Addition of Ceinwen Rees in London

Kirkland & Ellis has announced the addition of Ceinwen Rees to the firm's roster as a tax partner in London.

Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland's Executive Committee, expressed enthusiasm about the addition of Rees, describing her as an exceptionally skilled tax lawyer with a stellar reputation in the European investment funds community. He said that the firm was thrilled to welcome her to their prominent tax practice in London.

Rees provides counsel to clients on a diverse array of corporate tax and structuring matters, with a particular emphasis on guiding investment fund managers through fund, house, carry, and co-investment structuring. Additionally, she offers advice on the tax considerations associated with various transactions, including acquisitions, buyouts, asset sales, and restructurings. Rees has garnered recognition as a prominent lawyer in both Chambers UK and The Legal 500 UK.

This month, Kirkland has welcomed its second tax partner, with Rees joining the firm following the earlier announcement of James Morgan's move from Linklaters. Notably, Rees, before joining Kirkland, held the position of partner at Macfarlanes LLP.

Boasting nearly 200 attorneys across the globe, Kirkland's tax practice is renowned internationally for providing sophisticated guidance on multinational tax issues and transactions. The firm has also established a track record of successfully representing clients in intricate tax disputes. Kirkland's tax attorneys are engaged in a wide range of transactional matters, spanning from the largest public companies to the entirety of private equity and sponsor-initiated transactions, making them integral participants in the broadest spectrum of transactional activities in the marketplace.
