Greenberg Traurig Adds Arbitration Partner Nassif BouMalhab From Clyde & Co In Dubai

Greenberg Traurig has bolstered its international arbitration practice by appointing Nassif BouMalhab as a senior arbitration partner in its Dubai office. BouMalhab joins the 2,700-lawyer firm after a notable 15-year tenure at Clyde & Co, where he led the Middle East arbitration group.

His addition follows Greenberg Traurig's recent expansion of its arbitration team in London, which welcomed shareholders Jason Hambury, Gurmukh Riyat, and Clea Bigelow-Nuttall from Pinsent Masons last month.

Richard Rosenbaum, Greenberg Traurig’s executive chairman, expressed confidence in BouMalhab’s ability to enhance the firm’s international arbitration practice, highlighting his extensive experience in complex disputes across sectors such as education, property development, and hospitality. "We are committed to being a major force in disputes worldwide, involving both litigation and arbitration and in civil and criminal forums," Rosenbaum stated.

BouMalhab brings over 20 years of legal expertise, specializing in complex business disputes in the Middle East. He has represented clients in both international and domestic arbitration and mediation, having served as party counsel in more than 50 arbitration cases and participated in numerous court proceedings within the United Arab Emirates, including the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts and Abu Dhabi Global Market Courts. Additionally, he has experience serving on arbitration tribunals and advising lawmakers on reforms in arbitration legislation and rules.

As the eighth shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Dubai office, which was launched last year with the addition of two real estate partners from BCLP, BouMalhab will be the office’s sole arbitration lawyer. He expressed enthusiasm about joining Greenberg Traurig, stating, "The opportunity to join Greenberg Traurig as both the firm and the Middle East region enter an exciting growth period was attractive to me. My being part of the firm’s truly global platform means that I can now provide my clients with a full-service offering."
