Former Deutsche Bank Litigation Head Jocelyn Williams Joins Gibson Dunn’s Hong Kong Practice

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has recently appointed Jocelyn Williams as an Of Counsel to strengthen its legal teams in Hong Kong. Williams will contribute her expertise to the litigation, global financial regulatory, and white-collar defence and investigations practice groups.

Sebastien Evrard, the partner in charge at Gibson Dunn Hong Kong, expressed delight about Williams joining the firm. He stated, “We are excited to welcome Williams to Gibson Dunn. She is an accomplished practitioner, and the breadth and depth of her experience will further bolster our formidable disputes and regulatory offering in Asia.”

Williams brings with her a nine-year tenure as in-house counsel at Deutsche Bank, where she led the Asia-Pacific litigation and regulatory enforcement team. Her extensive multijurisdictional dispute experience, spanning over two decades, has equipped her to advise banks, securities firms, Big Four accounting firms, and corporates on matters related to litigation, contentious regulatory issues and insolvency.

Brian Gilchrist, another partner at Gibson Dunn, emphasised the value of Williams’ background. He said, “Her experience in managing the litigation and regulatory enforcement docket at one of the world’s largest financial institutions makes her skill set particularly valuable in navigating the market. She is an excellent addition to the firm.”
