Debevoise & Plimpton LLP Appoints Jyotin Hamid As Co-Chair Of Litigation Department

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP has announced that Litigation Partner Jyotin (Joe) Hamid will assume the role of Co-Chair of the Litigation Department effective July 1. Hamid will succeed Mary Beth Hogan, who is retiring at the end of this year after serving 11 years as Co-Chair of the Department and 33 years at the firm. Andrew Ceresney, former Director of Enforcement at the SEC, will continue in his role as the Department’s other Co-Chair.

Throughout his nearly three decades in legal practice, Hamid has held various Senior positions within the firm. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Employment Litigation Practice, Co-Leader of the People Solutions Group, and is a member of the Management Committee. With extensive courtroom experience, he is a seasoned trial lawyer who focuses his practice on employment litigation and other complex commercial litigation matters, including whistleblower, discrimination, contract, compensation, IP, and employee mobility disputes spanning a wide array of industries. Additionally, he advises employers on sensitive personnel matters, including investigations into alleged executive misconduct.
