Clifford Chance Bolsters Energy Team with Dual Partner Acquisition to Boost its Project Financing Capabilities
International law firm Clifford Chance has hired two energy and infrastructure partners from Latham & Watkins to boost its project financing capabilities.
The duo comprises Craig Nethercott, who is based in London, and Chirag Sanghrajka, who operates out of Dubai. Nethercott brings with him nearly 30 years of expertise in banking, capital markets, and Islamic finance. He has provided advisory services to energy and infrastructure firms on various project financing endeavours. On the other hand, Sanghrajka carries 16 years of experience in advising on energy and infrastructure projects, as well as intricate financing transactions, including those led by export credit agencies.
According to Russell Wells, Global Head of Energy at Clifford Chance, Nethercott and Sanghrajka bring impressive experience and will strengthen the firm’s energy and infrastructure offerings.
“Their combined expertise spans energy and infrastructure work across the UK, Middle East, Europe and Africa and their appointments reflect our continued investment in this growing sector, particularly following our expansion in Houston,” Russell Wells added.
Nethercott held the position of partner at Latham & Watkins for nearly 14 years, working in both London and Dubai. Prior to that, he had over 15 years of stint with White & Case, with seven of those years as a partner. Meanwhile, Sanghrajka, with 13 years of experience at Latham & Watkins, comes from a background that began at Slaughter and May.
