A law graduate from Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai, she has over two decades of experience in working in the financial services industry.
Nikam was earlier serving at Wells Fargo as head of legal. She has also worked with prominent organizations including 3M India Limited as executive director and general counsel; Fidelity Business Services India as vice president and head legal; Ascendas Property Management Services India as assistant vice president and head legal, and Tishman Speyer India as managing director and head legal.
