Boeing Appoints Uma Amuluru as its Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President
Boeing has named Uma Amuluru as its new Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President, Human Resources, effective April 1, succeeding Michael D'Ambrose, who will retire in July.
In her new capacity, Amuluru will oversee Boeing's talent planning, global talent acquisition, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee and labour relations, and diversity and inclusion initiatives. She will report directly to Boeing President and CEO David Calhoun and will be a member of the company's Executive Council.
David Calhoun praised Amuluru's leadership qualities and track record in team building and organizational strengthening, emphasizing the importance of investing in Boeing's global workforce of 170,000 employees.
Amuluru, currently serving as Vice President and General Counsel to Boeing Defense, Space & Security, previously held the role of Boeing's first Chief Compliance Officer, where she established the company's Global Compliance organization and served on the Executive Council.
Before joining Boeing in 2017, Amuluru held senior positions in the U.S. government, including serving as counsellor to the U.S. Attorney General and Associate White House Counsel to President Barack Obama.
Amuluru embarked on her legal journey as a commercial litigator, representing prominent corporations grappling with intricate legal challenges. Starting as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP and later becoming a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Amuluru handled cases involving government enforcement actions, investigations, and litigation at both state and federal levels. Additionally, she gained valuable experience as a law clerk at the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
She holds a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law and earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
