Asmita Sawant has joined Wipro as Director – Legal. An in-house attorney with broad legal background in corporate and commercial laws, Asmita has legal experience in American and Indian in commercial transactions and Intellectual Property Laws.
Earlier she was working with Tata Technologies which she joined in 2013. In April 2021, after being promoted to the position of Head – Transactions (Automotive) and IP, she was part of the North America Leadership Team, where she facilitated approximately $80 million in revenue by successfully negotiating services agreements and distribution agreements, advised senior management on various legal issues, managed of IP portfolio, statutory compliance, employee policies & manuals and was also responsible for bad debt recoveries.
She has also worked with KPIT and law firms such as Haresh Jagtiani & Associates and M.V. Kini and Co.
She is specialised in Corporate Law, Intellectual Property Law, Commercial Transactions and Contracts and Compliance. Asmita is based out of New York.
