Promising to build a world-class team, in the latest shake-up of its legal division, Tesla has appointed Brandon Ehrhart, a seasoned lawyer from the telecom sector as its general counsel.
His appointment comes amid the mission of Tesla's founder Elon Musk to build a hardcore litigation department.' It promises to end an unsettled period for the leadership of the legal team at the company, which hopes to initiate and execute lawsuits reporting directly to Musk.
In March last, David Searle, Walmart's former chief ethics and compliance officer had become the interim general counsel of Tesla. However, he left the company in December, with senior director and longstanding Tesla lawyer Dinna Eskin filling in as head of legal until Ehrhart's arrival.
Ehrhart assumed the role after a 20-year tenure at Dish, serving as general counsel of Dish Wireless and executive vice president and corporate secretary of Dish Network.
