Groombridge, Wu, Baughman & Stone (GWBS) has announced the opening of its newest office, in Tokyo. It will be led by prominent Japan-based US patent litigator Maxwell Fox.

The third office for the patent litigation firm, which launched offices in New York and Washington about nine months ago, will represent Japan-based clients in intellectual property disputes in the US. It will support Japanese and East Asian clients in industries including life sciences/biopharma, electronics, automotive, chemicals, telecom, and consumer products on IP disputes.

Nicholas Groombridge, the partner at GWBS stated, “We are excited to expand our global footprint and establish a presence in Japan. We have been committed to this critical market. We will grow and deepen our relationships with world-leading science and technology companies based in Japan and Asia.”

GWBS was founded in November last by four patent litigators Groombridge, Jennifer H. Wu, J. Steven Baughman, and Eric Alan Stone. They had previously worked together at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.
