Linklaters adds Rahul Chatterji to give a fillip to its finance offering

The Magic Circle firm Linklaters has hired Rahul Chatterji as a partner in its Asia banking practice to bolster the firm’s leveraged finance offering. Rahul who joins Linklaters in May this year will initially be based out of London and will later relocate to Singapore.
A debt finance lawyer, he advises lenders and borrowers on complex cross-border financing transactions, including leveraged buyouts, public-to-private transactions, investment-grade borrowings, and special situation transactions.
David Irvine, the global co-head of leveraged finance at Linklaters’ said, “We are delighted to have Chatterji on board. Leveraged finance is a key growth area for the firm, reflected by the three internal promotions and four lateral hires into our team over the past year. Chatterji has a track record in offshore Indian transactions. He will focus on India and Southeast Asia leveraged finance markets, working closely with the firm’s Singapore and London teams to support clients across Asia. He is also expected to play a key role in developing the firm’s existing India-facing structured lending business along with its capital markets team in Singapore.
He was previously working as a partner at Shearman & Sterling in London and prior to that was serving at Milbank.
