Hogan Lovells bolsters US Private Equity practice with hire of partner Matt McTygue

Global law firm Hogan Lovells has announced employed Matt McTygue as a partner in the Private Equity practice of its Corporate & Finance practice group. McTygue will be based in Boston.

"We are delighted to welcome Matt to the firm. As part of our global Private Equity practice, he will work closely with colleagues across the firm, and is an important strategic addition to our growing US transactional practice," James Doyle, Hogan Lovells' Global Corporate & Finance Practice Group Leader, said.

Maria Durant, Office Managing Partner for Boston, added: "Matt is a tremendously talented and highly-regarded practitioner in the Boston community and his addition, which follows that of transactional partner Alex Aber announced last year, further strengthens our corporate capabilities in the market and the growth of our office in Boston."

McTygue brings a wealth of experience to Hogan Lovells from his previous role at Locke Lord, where he represented private equity and venture capital firms, investors, and private companies in various business transactions, such as acquisition and financing.

His expertise spans multiple industries, including Energy, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Technology - all of which are areas of focus for Hogan Lovells.

In addition to his busy practice, McTygue also holds the position of Vice President at the Boston Bar Association and devotes a considerable amount of time to pro bono work in the Boston legal community.

"I am extremely excited to bring my skillset to the firm and to join the Hogan Lovells' Corporate and Finance practice in Boston at an exciting stage in its growth. The firm's global reach and unparalleled industry expertise allows me to support all aspects of my clients' most complex transactions, wherever they are," McTygue said.

Matt McTygue began his legal career in Boston at Palmer & Dodge (the predecessor to Locke Lord through a variety of mergers) having obtained his JD from Cornell Law School.
