Accomplished M&A and Capital Markets Expert Joshua Samek Joins Sidley in Florida

Sidley has revealed the addition of Joshua M. Samek to its roster, where he assumes the role of a partner in the M&A, Private Equity, and Capital Markets global practice groups based in Miami. Samek makes the transition from DLA Piper, where he held the position of co-chair for the firm's Florida Corporate practice. Additionally, Bradley Brodie is set to join Sidley in the capacity of counsel, further enhancing the firm's presence in Miami.

Samek specialises in a range of legal domains including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financing transactions, and general corporate and securities affairs, with a notable focus on the healthcare, technology, and life sciences industries. His expertise extends to a broad national practice in mergers and acquisitions, where he advocates for private equity funds and the companies within their portfolios, alongside representing public corporations and founders.

In addition, he provides strategic guidance to boards of directors and executive leadership of public companies concerning matters related to reporting to the US Securities and Exchange Commission and corporate governance.

“As we approach the one-year anniversary of opening our Miami office, we are excited to welcome Josh to our growing team. He has a strong national client base in healthcare, a vertical that we continue to invest in as a firm,” said Yvette Ostolaza, Sidley’s Management Committee Chair and Executive Committee member.

According to Ostolaza, Samek’s M&A and capital markets capabilities, along with his deep Florida ties, will help the firm serve its growing public and private corporate client base in the region. He dubbed Samek as a professional well-regarded by the firm’s clients and partners and termed him as a natural fit for the organisation.
