Deque Systems Drags BrowserStack To US Court Of Virginia On Copyright Infringement

Deque Systems, a digital accessibility company based in Herndon, Virginia, has approached the US District Court Eastern District of Virginia against BrowserStack, a mobile and web software testing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) unicorn, over theft allegations of Intellectual Property (IP).
Deque filed a lawsuit based on allegations including copyright infringement, breach of contract, and false advertising. It complained that in 2023, Accel-backed BrowserStack entered the market with a replica of 'axe DevTools browser extension', a part of Deque's proprietary accessibility testing product.
Accessibility testing makes web and mobile applications easily accessible to people with disabilities including visual, hearing, mobility, and cognitive impairment.
