Piramal Group Elevates Anand Vardhan To Group General Counsel Position

In a strategic move, Piramal Group has appointed Anand Vardhan as its Group General Counsel, marking a significant stride in the organization's Legal Leadership. Anand Vardhan, previously holding the position of President Legal at Piramal Capital & Housing Finance, brings with him over two decades of extensive experience across diverse legal domains.

Vardhan's extensive experience encompasses litigation management, legal policy formulation, and adept handling of intricate matters such as Insolvency and Bankruptcy proceedings, stressed accounts management, and dispute resolution.

Anand Vardhan has successfully overseen a team of over 25 lawyers, managing legal operations not only within Piramal Capital & Housing Finance but also across its subsidiaries, including Dewan Housing Finance Limited.

Prior to his role at Piramal, Anand Vardhan has held key positions at various prestigious organizations, shaping his diverse legal acumen. His previous roles include General Counsel at SUN-Apollo Ventures, an offshore real estate private equity fund, and Associate Vice President and Head Legal at HDFC Venture Capital Fund. He has also held managerial positions in legal functions at esteemed institutions such as ICICI Bank and Tata Housing.

This appointment comes as S.K. Honnesh, the former Group General Counsel at Piramal Group, transitions to a new role within the Kotak Mahindra Bank, indicating a reshuffle in the legal leadership landscape among prominent corporate entities.
