Trilegal has announced that Payel Chatterjee has joined the firm as a Partner in dispute resolution practice in Mumbai office. She will focus on white-collar crime, investigations, and international arbitrations.

With her addition, the partnership strength at the firm has reached 102.

On her joining, Nishant Parikh, the partner and member of the Management Committee at Trilegal said, “We are pleased that Chatterjee will be joining Trilegal. A 2009 graduate of the Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, Payel earned her LL.M. in banking, corporate, finance, and securities law from OP Jindal Global University in 2021.

She has previously worked at Nishith Desai Associates, and was most recently serving at Adani Enterprises as a Corporate Litigation Head.

Payel has over 13 years of experience in dispute resolution, international arbitration, litigation and white-collar investigations involving financial crimes, bribery, corruption, and internal fraud.

Payel has done extensive work on international projects involving cross-border elements and managing arbitrations and litigations across forums. She also serves as an editor to the International Bar Association, Business Crime Committee and is vice chair, Steering Committee, International Chamber of Commerce Commission on Arbitration, and ADR.
