Baker McKenzie has announced that Marie Leppard will join the firm as a Partner in its London Antitrust & Competition Practice. She joins from boutique competition firm Euclid Law and will be based in the London office from July 1, 2025.
Leppard brings extensive experience advising on EU, UK, and multijurisdictional merger control, foreign direct investment, cartel investigations, abuse of dominance, and antitrust compliance. She has acted as a key adviser to private equity houses, financial sponsors, global financial institutions, and corporates in complex matters before the European Commission, UK Competition and Markets Authority, and other international regulatory agencies.
She also has sectoral expertise spanning consumer goods, energy, pharmaceuticals, banking, and fintech, and has advised leniency applicants in cartels, bid-rigging, and resale price maintenance investigations.
Samantha Mobley, Chair of Baker McKenzie’s EMEA Antitrust & Competition Practice, welcomed Leppard’s addition: “Marie’s arrival comes at a time of heightened regulatory scrutiny, and her expertise will further bolster our team’s ability to guide clients through complex competition matters. She will also enhance our transactional capabilities, particularly in securing multi-jurisdictional clearances for cross-border deals.”
Ed Poulton, London Managing Partner, added: “Marie’s experience aligns perfectly with our Antitrust & Competition team’s strengths. Her deep knowledge across key sectors will make her an invaluable resource for our clients.”
