Google Settles Trademark Suit With Vizier Over Software
In 2023, it had denied the allegations
Google has resolved a trademark lawsuit brought by analytics software company Visier over the former’s ‘Vizier’ machine-learning software in the US District Court of California.
A joint statement by the companies said that they agreed to settle the dispute in principle and asked to pause the case while they finalized the agreement.
In 2022, Vancouver-based Visier, specializing in human-resources software, sued Google for applying cutting-edge machine-learning algorithms for data to deliver insightful predictions. It added that Google’s service for optimizing machine-learning models, would cause consumer confusion and violate Visier's trademark rights.
However, Google had then denied the allegations in court.
