Seek awarded Patent for enhanced Augmented Reality Experience
Seek XR Inc. (Seek) – a leader of web based Augmented Reality (AR) experiences has announced the issuance of US Patent 10,839,615, by the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in continuation of application No. 16/666,944, dealing with the core of Seek's technology.
The issued patent will further enhance the technological development for Seek. This will cover the Systems and Methods for Generating and Intelligently Distributing Forms of Extended Reality Content gives Seek, an exclusive right to the distribution of any single 3D model across two or more combinations of platforms, browsers, or devices.
Being a leader of web-based Augmented Reality experiences, Jon Cheney, CEO and Co-founder of Seek said, "3D content is the next layer of the internet and is changing the way we interact with the world over the next decade. Seek's technology is providing that key framework for the immersive web to grow and develop, making Seek the critical connective tissue for the entire AR advertising and media market."
The creation and distribution of Augmented Reality (AR), typically being manual and time-consuming, have resulted in the brand struggling while creating it. On the other hand, the technology of Seek allows a different level of automation whereby the multiple 3D advertising of entire AR advertising can be stored. Moreover, having it stored, it can be used across multiple numbers of social platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and most recently Shopify, as well as browsers like Safari and Chrome, and devices like iOS and Android.
Having no such real standardization, there were different ways of uploading and rendering the 3D image which also requires the 3D content to be individually converted depending on the destination. Nevertheless, the infrastructure of Seek Hub has simplified the level of automation, standardizing the distribution of 3D content for an entire cross-channel marketing campaign, making Seek's streamlined process a necessity for those using AR within their online advertising.
Sturgis Adams, Chief Creative Officer at Seek said, "Seek's unique technology and platform is paving the way to deliver 3D at scale to the immersive web, and it's why I decided to join the company. We don't just have a patent that says we might be able to do something, we are executing on it now and it's extremely exciting to be part of delivering the next layer of the internet."
The total market value of AR advertising is projected to touch $8 billion by 2024. The technology in itself, allowing the customer to view realistic 3D images has proved to increase sales conversion by 150%. With Seek, getting the patent will definitely project the growth to the next level, and also bringing AR to the website, the brand can get benefitted from the AR, making a better experience for the consumer.
