The Government of Rajasthan has issued guidelines for a personal hearing in virtual mode before the authorities of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Value Added Tax (VAT).
The state's GST department explained that the challenges faced due to the outbreak of the Covid-I9 pandemic had resulted in a different kind of feedback from trade and field formations. Therefore, appellate and adjudicating authorities issued instructions for conducting personal hearings in virtual mode.
The government maintained that such steps would speed up the appellate proceedings, facilitating the stakeholders including the suppliers/taxpayers, importers, exporters, advocates, tax practitioners and authorized representatives under the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT).
