NCLAT To Decide On Meta's Appeal Against CCI's Rs.213.14 Penalty

The matter is listed before the bench of Justice Ashok Bhushan (Chairperson) and Arun Baroka (Technical Member)

The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) will pronounce its decision on 23 January regarding Meta's appeal to halt the 213.14-crore penalty imposed by the Competition Commission of India (CCI).

The competition regulator alleged abuse of dominance linked to WhatsApp's 2021 Privacy Policy and data-sharing practices with other Meta (formerly Facebook) companies.

The tribunal admitted Meta's plea on 16 January.

The bench of Justice Ashok Bhushan (Chairperson) stated, "We find that the submission raised by the parties needs consideration. We admit both the appeals.”
