The third round of job cuts at Meta (formerly Facebook) has affected 6,000 employees globally, including senior executives in India.

Those losing their jobs in India are Avinash Pant, director of marketing; Saket Jha Saurabh, director of media partnerships, and Amrita Mukherjee, director, legal.

The global layoffs have hit employees across marketing, administration, human resources, and other divisions in India.

Surabhi Prakash, a business engineer, asked to leave Meta, stated, "Sad it ended, but glad it happened; the anxiousness is over finally."

The job cuts were part of the technology giant’s so-called ‘Year of Efficiency,’ in which the company is restructuring to cut costs.

In March, Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Meta warned of downsizing the company by axing 10,000 jobs across two rounds in April and May. The company eliminated 11,000 roles in November last and 4,000 last month.
