Rimon PC trio partners to inaugurate an IP boutique

To start KXT Law, a six-lawyer commercial litigation and intellectual property boutique in Silicon Valley, three partners of Rimon PC move out the company

The project is being led by Karineh Khachatourian, David Xue, and Amir Tabarrok, along with three more attorneys and three support personnel. The six attorneys have collaborated for more than ten years, and their combined knowledge of IP matters related to the Bay Area's tech, manufacturing, and entrepreneurial areas is extensive.

According to KXT Law, the trio founded the boutique in response to client requests for an alternative to a "one-size-fits-all" strategy for IP and commercial litigation matters.

Khachatourian joined Rimon in 2018 and now manages KXT Law's Palo Alto office as the firm's office managing partner. Before that, she was a founding member of the Silicon Valley office of Duane Morris, where she worked as the managing partner from 2013 to 2018.

Requests for comment regarding Khachatourian's replacement were not immediately answered by Rimon.

To acquire, administer, enforce, and safeguard high-quality intellectual property for all of our clients and to defend them against intellectual dishonesty, Khachatourian added, "We are connected to the legal, technological and inventor communities.

In 2018, Khachatourian and Xue moved from Duane Morris to Rimon. While Tabarrok concentrates on drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the electrical, mechanical, and computer software domains, Xue specializes in patent-related concerns in the technology industry.

For its part, Silicon Valley-based distributed law firm Rimon has been quickly growing its global reach over the past few years. Rimon is driven by technology.

After opening offices in Seoul, Casablanca, Paris, London, Austin, and Montreal in 2021, the firm opened an office in Frankfurt in September of that same year. The firm also opened offices in Seoul, Casablanca, Paris, London, Austin, and Montreal. The company was founded in 2008, but during the Covid-19 pandemic, it experienced tremendous expansion, expanding to more than 45 sites worldwide.

McDermott Will & Emery, which last week hired eight IP lawyers from Baker Botts to open an office in Austin, are among several other US law firms that have recently added considerable IP weight from domestic rivals.

In addition, Fox Rothschilds opened a Boston office in May with a team of IP attorneys from Mintz Levin, while Womble Bond Dickison opened its 20th US office in New York in April with a team of five IP attorneys from Abelman Frayne & Schwab.
