Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu is set to establish its first permanent European office in London, with plans to open in January next year. The new office will be led by partner Kiyoshi Honda, who specializes in energy, real estate, and environmental law, particularly in the renewable energy sector.
Honda brings extensive experience in outbound transactions involving the UK and continental Europe, positioning him well to spearhead the firm's expansion into the European market.
Currently, the Tokyo-based firm operates a European practice group that comprises over 10 partners. This group includes UK-admitted lawyer John Lane, who focuses on cross-border litigation and regulatory investigations and previously worked at Freshfields, as well as
Germany-qualified Axel Kuhlmann, who specializes in corporate and M&A and formerly practiced at Gleiss Lutz.
