Kevin Chambers rejoins Latham & Watkins as Partner in the White Collar Defence & Investigations Practice
Kevin Chambers has returned to Latham & Watkins' Washington, D.C. office as a Partner in the White Collar Defence & Investigations Practice and a member of the Litigation & Trial Department.
Chambers has returned to the firm after serving as the US Department of Justice's Director for COVID-19 Fraud Enforcement and Associate Deputy Attorney General (DOJ). He has extensive senior government experience in white collar investigations, litigation and regulatory enforcement matters.

Chambers undertook the Department's efforts to identify, investigate, and prosecute pandemic relief-related fraud as the leader of the DOJ task force on pandemic-related fraud and financial misconduct, including the establishment of nationwide strike teams to prevent large-scale fraud committed by criminal organizations and transnational actors. Kevin as Associate Deputy Attorney General, managed the Criminal Division portfolio for the Deputy Attorney General. Chambers also served as co-chair of the Corporate Crime Advisory Group, which was in charge of making substantial changes to the Department's strategy for prosecuting businesses, executives, and people involved in criminal and civil misconduct.

Kevin worked at Latham & Watkins till early 2021, when he joined the DOJ. He supported individual and institutional clients at Latham & Watkins in high-profile white collar, securities and professional liability cases, along with criminal and civil litigation and internal investigations. He represented public and private companies, such as domestic and foreign affiliates of public accounting firms, defence contractors, energy companies, and significant global retailers, along with corporate boards of directors, in cases regarding all types of government investigations.
While at Latham & Watkins, Kevin has served as Local Co-Chair of Latham's Washington, D.C. Litigation & Trial Department and Global Chair of the Diversity Leadership Committee.

Prior to joining Latham in 2014, Chambers worked for four years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. He prosecuted over 250 criminal cases in the US District Court for the District of Columbia and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He was the chief prosecutor in more than 60 trials and won four criminal appeals. His prosecutorial experience includes cases involving interstate drug trafficking, violent crime, and fraud against government agencies. Prior to joining the government service, Kevin worked in a major Washington, D.C. law firm's securities enforcement department.
Kevin is the recent high-profile inclusion to the firm's premier White Collar Defense & Investigations Practice, following the recent arrivals of former Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the United States Department of Justice's Criminal Division Nick McQuaid, former Deputy White House Counsel Danielle Conley and Jonathan Su, and renowned defence lawyers Christopher Garcia and Raquel Kellert.

Chambers earned his BS from the State University of New York at Albany and spent three years as an auditor at Ernst & Young before earning his JD from Yale Law School. He served as a law clerk for Judge Harry Edwards of the US Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
