PwC Legal Middle East Unveils Cutting-Edge GenAI Platform

PwC Legal Middle East has unveiled a new Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) platform tailored for Corporate Legal Departments and business teams. This initiative is part of the firm’s NewLaw practice, aimed at enhancing legal processes through cutting-edge technology.

The platform will offer a comprehensive suite of services to both private and government organizations, including the identification and prioritization of use cases, technology selection and procurement, custom build or configuration implementation support, and change management assistance.

In addition to the new GenAI platform, PwC Legal Middle East is also enhancing its existing legal advisory, governance, and compliance services through the integration of AI and GenAI technologies. The firm has established global alliances and is investing in platforms such as Harvey, OpenAI, and LeAh.

Alex Rosenrauch will lead this innovative offering. Recently appointed as the legal AI and NewLaw leader at PwC Middle East, he previously headed the legal AI and GenAI delivery capabilities for PwC across the Asia Pacific region before relocating to the Middle East.

Rosenrauch stated, “Our first-of-its-kind offering not only showcases our commitment to legal innovation but also highlights our substantial investment in the region’s legal tech landscape. By expanding our NewLaw capabilities and forging strategic partnerships with industry-leading solutions like OpenAI, Harvey, and LeAh, we are setting a new standard for legal innovation in the Middle East.”

Sandeep Agrawal, global legal technology and alliances leader at PwC, emphasized that the new legal technology offering is designed to address the specific needs of the region. He noted that PwC’s global legal leadership is making significant investments in the Middle East to ensure clients have access to the latest GenAI models. The firm is also focusing on developing custom GenAI Arabic models that consider the region's unique requirements, ensuring that their legal tech solutions are well-suited for both current and future applications.

This announcement follows PwC Middle East’s annual CEO survey, which revealed that nearly three-quarters of chief executives in the region anticipate significant changes in how their companies create, deliver, and capture value due to GenAI over the next three years. Additionally, almost half of the respondents indicated they altered their technology strategy last year in response to GenAI, surpassing the global average of 31%.
