The firm completes 15 years since its establishment in 2008
NovoJuris Legal LLC has announced its international expansion with the inauguration of two offices in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania in the United States of America.
The firm comprising two partners Richard Devlin and Harsha Venkatesh, will drive the strategic growth and development of the US offices with founder Sharda Balaji.
NovoJuris Legal’s expertise lies in key areas including India entry strategies, corporate governance, private financing, immigration laws, investments & cap table matters, commercial contracts, and mergers and acquisitions.
Commenting on the development, Balaji said, “The US represents a pivotal hub for global commerce and investment, making it an ideal location to bolster our expertise of working with technology companies in strategic advisory on structure and entity formation, private placements and exempt offerings in the US, investment and exit-related transactions; and strategic transactions including joint ventures, and partnerships.”
She added, “This strategic expansion will enable us to better serve our clients by offering them a holistic suite of legal services that cater to their cross-border needs. The US presence undoubtedly positions us to stay at the forefront of emerging legal trends and regulatory changes on both sides of the Atlantic.”
Devlin remarked, "The team at the US, Venkatesh and I are excited about the potential benefits this expansion brings. We look forward to embarking on this journey of growth and excellence together. Having a presence in the US will not only facilitate seamless cross-border transactions and foster international collaborations but will truly enhance our ability to deliver top-notch legal counsel in a global context.”
While Devlin will operate from Pennsylvania and focus on corporate and commercial transactions for companies conducting business in the US, Venkatesh will be based in New Jersey and will focus on human resources and US immigration.
Devlin previously served as an inside counsel for several corporations in the technology, SaaS, and investment services industries. Prior to that, he was a senior associate at the global law firm Reed Smith in Philadelphia. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Association of Corporate Counsel, Greater Philadelphia Chapter. He has also served as an advisory board member to two early-stage start-up enterprises.
Venkatesh has handled thousands of petitions and gained expertise across several visa categories such as H1B, L1A, O and P visas, and US Permanent Residency. She has clients in biopharma, IT & ITES, media and entertainment, automotive design engineering, and education verticals in the US, India, South Korea, and Japan.
