Real Estate Lawyers Yuko Ino and Koh Ueda have joined the Tokyo office of Greenberg Traurig, a US-based law firm.
Ino assumes the role of a shareholder, while Ueda joins as counsel. Both Ino and Ueda were recruited from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, with Ino previously serving as the head of Orrick's Tokyo real estate team.
With over 12 years of experience, Ino focus on private investment funds, pension funds, real estate asset managers, as well as real estate developers and investors. Her expertise lies in various aspects of real estate transactions, encompassing structuring, negotiation, documentation, and implementation.
She has a wealth of experience in handling non-recourse financing, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), restructuring, and workouts. Before her tenure at Orrick, she also gained valuable experience at Morrison Foerster and Yanagida & Nomura.
Ueda focuses his practice on real estate project structured financing. He provides expert advice to major financial institutions and companies in Japan on various aspects of asset securitisation. This includes securitisation of diverse asset types, such as real property, the whole business, and monetary claims like commercial and residential mortgages, auto loans, and consumer loans.
The inclusion of Ino and Ueda to Greenberg Traurig's team has expanded the firm's Tokyo office to a total of 21 fee-earners, including 10 shareholders. With nine lawyers specialising in real estate, the firm has strengthened its real estate practice significantly.
