Friven Yeoh Joins Skadden as Head of International Litigation Group in Asia

U.S. law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom has appointed Friven Yeoh from Sidley Austin to lead its international litigation and arbitration group in Asia. Yeoh is a highly experienced commercial arbitration practitioner who previously co-led Sidley's global arbitration, trade, and advocacy group. He joined Sidley in 2016 after working at O'Melveny & Myers, and has also held positions at Freshfields and Herbert Smith Freehills.

In his new role at Skadden, Yeoh will divide his time between the firm’s Hong Kong and Singapore offices, leveraging his extensive background in resolving complex, high-stakes business disputes across various industries. His practice focuses on international arbitrations governed by numerous institutional and ad hoc rules, including ICC, HKIAC, CIETAC, SIAC, and UNCITRAL. He is also proficient in commercial litigation and regulatory investigations involving areas such as product liability, energy, corporate affairs, and financial services.

“Friven's proven track record in achieving favorable outcomes in complex matters has earned him a stellar reputation among clients and peers across Asia and beyond,” said Jeremy London, Skadden's executive partner.

Ryan Junck, global head of Skadden’s litigation and controversy practices, added, “Friven’s expertise aligns seamlessly with our existing international arbitration capabilities and our global litigation group.”

With Yeoh’s addition, Skadden now boasts 10 partners in its Hong Kong office.
