Han Kun Law Offices Expands Beyond China with Office in Singapore

Han Kun Law Offices, a Beijing-headquartered law firm, has established its presence in Singapore, marking its first international branch outside of China. This expansion follows the qualification of its Hong Kong arm to practice law in November of last year, making Singapore the firm's second overseas location.

The firm has strategically chosen to establish an office in Singapore, recognising its significance as one of the key financial hubs in the Asia-Pacific region. With many of the firm's clients engaging in international business activities in Singapore, this expansion aligns with the evolving market dynamics and the preferences of Han Kun's clientele.

The newly opened Singapore office will offer a comprehensive range of legal services, including domestic and foreign capital markets, private equity, mergers and acquisitions, financial management, and private wealth, as well as dispute resolution.

Chen Dafei, a specialist in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity, has been appointed as the managing partner of the Singapore office. Additionally, the office has recently welcomed Yu Lan, an expert in family wealth management.

Before joining Han Kun Law Offices, Yu Lan served as a partner at Duane Morris & Selvam, a law firm based in Singapore, for over a decade.

Yu Lan specialises in the design of family office structures, tax exemption applications, family trusts, succession planning, asset management licenses, and nationality planning. Her expertise also extends to assisting PRC corporations in establishing a presence in Southeast Asia and facilitating corporate restructurings.

Yu Lan is a registered foreign lawyer in Singapore and holds qualifications as a solicitor of England and Wales, a member of the New York State Bar, and a qualified lawyer in the People's Republic of China (PRC). In addition, she also serves as a legal adviser on foreign-related matters for the Jiangsu Lawyers Association.
