Curtis Acquires License To Operate As An International Law Firm In The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia
Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle has received license to operate as a foreign law firm in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The office will be staffed by a team comprising both Saudi and international lawyers, fully integrated into Curtis's global network.
George Kahale III, Chairman of Curtis, remarked, “This was the logical next step for us given our expanding practice, both inbound and outbound, in this exciting and important market. We will continue to focus on our traditional areas of strength – international transactions, international tax, investment management, international trade, international litigation and arbitration, and public international law.”
Curtis has been steadily establishing its presence in the Middle East, initially opening its Muscat office in 1997, located in Qurum and recognized as the sole licensed American law firm in Oman. Subsequently, the Dubai office was launched in 2008 and operates under license in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
The most recent addition was the Riyadh office in 2021, established in collaboration with Trafua Legal Consultants, an independent Saudi Arabian law firm.
