Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan have announced the arrival of two bankruptcy lawyers from rival Foley & Lardner to boost its insolvency and restructuring litigation capabilities.
Erika Morabito and Brittany Nelson, who together bring four decades of combined experience have been roped in as Partners in the firm's Washington DC office. They have experience in representing clients such as unsecured creditor committees, ad hoc groups, shareholders and debtors in high-profile US bankruptcy matters.
Morabito held several leadership roles at Foley, including as vice-chair of its national litigation department and vice-chair of its business litigation and dispute resolution practice.
Nelson spent over four years as an associate at legacy firm Patton Boggs before she got associated with Foley where she spent close to a decade. She worked as a partner at Foley for the past three years.
The firm's founder John Quinn termed Morabito and Nelson as elite bankruptcy practitioners with a strong track record of success. "Our bankruptcy practice has an impressive roster of talent. Morabito, who is on the board of directors for the American Bankruptcy Institute, worked on a wide range of commercial litigation cases in state and federal courts during her long stint with Foley.
Morabito, in her customary statement, termed Quinn Emanuel as the best platform "to unite sophisticated bankruptcy lawyers and top-notch litigators in the world of fast-paced and complex restructurings and large Chapter 11 filings."
