He was designated as Senior Advocate by the Delhi High Court in 2017

Prashanto Chandra Sen, the Senior Advocate at the Delhi High Court, has joined Quadrant Chambers in the United Kingdom as an Associate Member.

On his joining the chambers, Sen remarked, "I am delighted to be accepted to one of the pre-eminent and leading international commercial disputes chambers. It is a significant development for me professionally, as I build my international disputes practice and deepened my commercial disputes practice in India. I greatly look forward to this exciting synergy."

A commercial and arbitration lawyer, Sen has been practicing in a broad range of commercial, regulatory and public law disputes. He is an expert at handling high-end commercial, mining, energy, infrastructure and environment disputes.

One of the landmark cases that Sen appeared in was the Bharat Aluminum Company (BALCO) matter wherein the Supreme Court distinguished between a 'seat' and a 'venue'. The apex court had held that the Arbitration Act would not be applicable in which the seat/venue was outside India.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, in 1995 and holds a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from Oxford University.

Sen's career in law began with the erstwhile Amarchand Mangaldas. He then joined the chambers of Senior Advocate Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi. Later, Sen served in the chambers of Senior Advocate Aryama Sundaram and, in 2005, started practicing independently.
