Faye Jarvis, a specialist in pensions, has been hired as Partner by Macfarlanes from Hogan Lovells, an uncommon occurrence for the company.
With a wealth of expertise advising employers and pension trustees on financing difficulties, liability management exercises, scheme mergers and demergers, and other pension-related strategies and transaction support, Jarvis has joined as a partner in London. She has aided the insurance industry in creating pension solutions, and the investment management industry in expanding their trustee offerings.
"[Jarvis's] knowledge will be a tremendous addition to our offering in this critical area for our clients," said Sebastian Prichard Jones, senior partner at Macfarlane.
In 2016, after working for Hogan Lovells for 15 years, Jarvis was made a partner there. She started her career at the now-defunct firm Robin Simon & Hammonds Suddards Edge and went on to work for RPC before joining Squire Patton Boggs.
After hiring Michael Sholem, a partner in financial regulation, from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft in October, the firm has now welcomed her. Besides his expertise in ESG and cryptocurrency, Sholem is a former lawyer at Slaughter and May.
