Mayer Brown has announced the appointment of its senior structured finance lawyer Ronan Mellon as a partner in the firm's Banking & Finance practice in London. He was previously working at DLA Piper, where Ronan was a partner for eight years.
Ronan represents issuers, arrangers, investment managers and investors in a range of complex finance transactions. He has a broad structured finance, securitization and debt capital markets practice, which includes European and US collateralized loan obligations, covered bonds, credit linked notes, repackagings, derivatives and emerging market bonds. He also advises on project finance-related transactions, including project bonds, note issuances, private placements and hybrid structures for both wrapped and unwrapped deals.
"I have known Ronan for many years, including as a colleague at a previous law firm and I appreciate his skill as a great securitization lawyer and client developer," added Dominic Griffiths,
Mayer Brown's London Managing Partner. "Ronan's appointment furthers our investment commitment in London to our market-leading banking and finance capabilities, and strengthens our global offering to institutional clients."
