Jon Ornolfsson joins Baker McKenzie as Finance & Projects partner in Tokyo office
Jon Ornolfsson has joined Baker McKenzie's Finance & Projects Practice Group in Tokyo. Jon will have a pan-Asian practice, working throughout the region for the Firm's clients. He brings in lot of expertise advising market-leading international and Asia-based clients on energy and infrastructure projects around the world.
M&A, joint ventures, project development, and project finance in the oil and gas, electricity (conventional and renewable), chemical, and other energy-related infrastructure sectors are just a few of the areas of expertise that Jon practices in. Additionally, he offers advice to customers on a variety of cutting-edge sustainable energy projects, such as projects to build the first clean fuel value chain.
Since 2007, Jon has provided advice on several of the most high-profile energy deals in the Asia Pacific area. Leading Japanese trade houses, energy firms, other international project developers and sponsors, as well as a number of Asian governments, make up his diverse clientele.
Jon has received recognition from The Legal 500 Asia Pacific as a notable lawyer for oil and gas and M&A as well as from IFLR1000 as a highly rated practitioner for project development in Singapore. At important industry conferences and thought leadership events, he frequently moderates and speaks. He is authorized to practice in Wales, England, and Japan (as a Registered Foreign Lawyer).
