Catherine Dawson Joins AffiniPay's Executive Team as General Counsel

The popular business software start-up AffiniPay announced that Catherine Dawson will be joining the management team as General Counsel.

With an emphasis on data protection, cybersecurity, and mergers & acquisitions, Catherine Dawson has over two decades of experience as an attorney. When it comes to corporate governance and data privacy compliance, Dawson is a pathfinder in the legal sector. She has also led legal teams in the internet sector.

Dawson started off as an associate at Jones Day and later moved on to become an attorney at Gunderson Dettmer. Later, Dawson joined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she provided counsel to public and private firms and Boards of Directors on matters ranging from general corporate strategy to the settlement of complex corporate transactions. Formerly, Dawson was Spiceworks' Chief Legal Officer and Secretary.

Dawson earned a BA in economics from Oberlin College and a Juris Doctorate from New York University. Dawson is an active philanthropist, and he has been on the board of Red Arena, a non-profit that uses equine-assisted therapy to help people with disabilities become more self-sufficient.
