Catherine Dawson Joins AffiniPay's Executive Team as General Counsel

The popular business software start-up AffiniPay announced that Catherine Dawson will be joining the management team as General Counsel.

With an emphasis on data protection, cybersecurity, and mergers & acquisitions, Catherine Dawson has over two decades of experience as an attorney. When it comes to corporate governance and data privacy compliance, Dawson is a pathfinder in the legal sector. She has also led legal teams in the internet sector.

"Catherine has a demonstrated history of success serving as General Counsel and legal counsel to numerous high-growth businesses on a variety of matters and transactions. Dawson started off as an associate at Jones Day and later moved on to become an attorney at Gunderson Dettmer. Later, Dawson joined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where she provided counsel to public and private firms and Boards of Directors on matters ranging from general corporate strategy to the settlement of complex corporate transactions. Formerly, Dawson was Spiceworks' Chief Legal Officer and Secretary.

Catherine Dawson is "thrilled to be joining AffiniPay," and she plans to "be a part of this thriving company's success story" as AffiniPay expands into new markets in the legal, accounting, and professional services sectors.

Dawson earned a BA in economics from Oberlin College and a Juris Doctorate from New York University. Dawson is an active philanthropist, and he has been on the board of Red Arena, a non-profit that uses equine-assisted therapy to help people with disabilities become more self-sufficient.

In addition to being included on the Inc.5000 list of the United States' fastest-growing private firms for 2020, AffiniPay was been awarded one of the "2022 Best Places to Work" by Built In Austin.
