Allen & Overy makes new appointments in Paris to strengthen restructuring expertise

Hector Arroyo joins Allen & Overy's Paris office as a restructuring partner. He's bringing a trio of associates with him to A&O: Antoine Santoni, Léa Marlière, and Hicham Kaddaha.

Hector Arroyo has worked in the fields of insolvency, financial restructuring, and distressed M&A for over 15 years. When it comes to strategic and complicated transactions, typically involving a cross-border element, he is frequently consulted by both international creditors like banks, private equity funds, and hedge funds, and debtors. Hector also offers advice to organisations who invest in troubled situations.

"We are thrilled to welcome Hector and his team," Hervé Ekué, managing partner of A&O in France, said. Restructuring is a specialty and a strength for Hector, a partner who brings extensive expertise and insight into the market. We will be able to provide excellent service to our customers because of Hector's broad breadth of expertise, rapid response time, and excellent interpersonal and receptive abilities."

In addition to enhancing our local French offering, Hector and his team's knowledge will help A&O's market-leading worldwide restructuring practice grow, according to Katrina Buckley, co-head of the group. Our ability to seamlessly advise on the largest and most complicated domestic and international restructurings will be greatly enhanced by Hector's extensive customer base and his extensive experience and market profile.

Partner Hector Arroyo of Allen & Overy in Paris remarked, "I am happy to be joining Allen & Overy, which is acknowledged by both colleagues and customers for its expertise to manage high-stake domestic and cross-border transactions. It is unfortunate that we are joining A&O at a time when the economy and capital markets are in decline. Due to our expertise in reorganization, we will be able to meet and exceed our customers' expectations even in this unstable economy.

The Global Restructuring Group of A&O is unique, with over 150 restructuring lawyers in over 40 locations worldwide. Using a wide variety of international solutions such as U.S. Chapter 11 reorganizations, UK schemes of arrangement, restructuring plans and other EU preventive restructuring tools, pre-packaged sales, and debt for equity swaps, the team provides advice on the largest and most complex cross-border restructurings.

In addition to his Juris Doctor from the Federal University of Goiás, Brazil, Hector Arroyo has a Master of Laws from the University of Paris Dauphine (2010) in the field of Business Law (2006). In 2007, he was enrolled in the Brazilian Bar Association; in 2010, he was admitted to the Paris Bar; and in 2020, he became a Solicitor of England and Wales. When he first entered the workforce, he worked for Bremond & Associés, where he eventually became a partner in 2018. Soon after becoming a partner at Baker McKenzie in 2020, he established a Restructuring & Insolvency department in the French capital. Hector is a member of the top turnaround association in France as well as the founder and honorary president of the French Young Restructuring Professionals Association (AJR) (ARE).
