Paul Hastings Poaches Private Equity Leader From Sidley Austin To Open Boston Office

Paul Hastings has made a power move in the Private Equity world by bringing on Alexander Temel, a Former Co-Leader of Sidley Austin's international private equity practice. Temel joins Paul Hastings as Global Co-Chair of their private equity practice, along with a team of lawyers he has assembled to open the firm’s office in Boston.

Temel's vast expertise covers a range of transactions from leveraged buyouts and recapitalisations to structured investments. He boasts an impressive client list that includes financial giants like Goldman Sachs, Great Hill Partners, Sixth Street and Thayer Street Partners.

Praising Temel's addition, Paul Hastings chairman Frank Lopez highlighted his leadership and the team's contribution to the private equity practice. He highlighted Paul Hastings' commitment to a diverse range of clients and asset classes. Lopez believes Temel's team will be instrumental in further strengthening their market share.

Temel will collaborate with Brian Richards, Chicago-Based Co-Chair of the Global Private Equity Practice at Paul Hastings. Together, they will lead a team of over 100 lawyers who serve a prestigious clientele that includes Accel-KKR, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Oakley Capital Investments.

Temel is enthusiastic about the growth potential at Paul Hastings. “We see significant opportunity for growth on the platform that Paul Hastings has built, fuelled by an ambitious and collaborative culture,” Temel said, adding that he is eager to make use of his expertise to broaden the firm's reach and create new opportunities to serve their clients and capture a larger market share.
