Experienced Property Litigator Joins Nelsons Dispute Resolution Team

Leading law firm Nelsons welcomes Chris Chan as a Partner to its growing dispute resolution team. His arrival further strengthens their core service areas, specialising in property litigation.

Chan joins Nelsons from Roythornes, where he held the position of Senior Associate. He brings a wealth of experience, having previously worked for Knights, Fraser Brown, and gained valuable insights as an in-house senior legal counsel. Since qualifying in 2013, he has earned a strong reputation representing both landlords and tenants in various commercial and residential property disputes.

“My move to Nelsons is a positive step in my career, giving me great scope to develop,” Chan said. “It’s also an exciting time for the firm, having become part of Lawfront and a strong period of growth over the past year and I’m proud to become part of this journey.”

“I knew of the talented dispute resolution team and the great clients at Nelsons,” Chan continued. "I'm eager to support existing clients, introduce new ones, and contribute to the team's overall success."

Nelsons' expert dispute resolution team provides a comprehensive range of services, including property and commercial litigation. They possess broad sectoral experience, supporting clients with matters like commercial contract claims, debt recovery, fraud, asset recovery, and disputes concerning property, rights of way, and landlord-tenant relations.

“It’s great to welcome Chris into the dispute resolution team,” Daniel Brumpton, partner and head of commercial litigation said. “He will play an important role in our work across the Nottingham property market working closely with Simon Waterfield and the team as we look to expand into this core area.”

Daniel Brumpton added: “Chris’ reputation and experience of property litigation makes him a vital asset to this part of our service and something we were keen to bring in to help us support the volume of clients we are experiencing.”
