Clifford Chance Boosts Abu Dhabi M&A Practice With Appointment Of Partner Lynn Ammar

Clifford Chance has appointed Lynn Ammar as a partner in its global M&A practice. Lynn is set to join Clifford Chance in September, operating from the firm’s Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices.

With over a decade of experience in cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, Lynn brings a wealth of expertise, particularly in the MENA region. She has a track record of advising major corporate and public sector clients, including prominent national oil companies, sovereign wealth funds, and large pension funds. Lynn's focus spans multi-billion dollar transactions across diverse industries, with a particular emphasis on energy and renewables, healthcare, technology, and consumer products. Before joining Clifford Chance, Lynn served as a partner at the international law firm Cleary Gottlieb, where she spent 12 years in the firm’s Abu Dhabi and Paris offices.

Lynn's recent notable engagements include advising OCI N.V. on the sale of its 50% stake in Fertiglobe Plc to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company for a total consideration of US$3.62 billion. She has also been involved in advising Fertiglobe on various joint ventures aimed at establishing low-carbon hydrogen projects in the UAE and Egypt, along with assisting several leading GCC sovereign wealth funds with outbound investments into the U.S. and Europe.

With Lynn's addition, the Clifford Chance M&A practice in the Middle East and Türkiye will now boast a total of 13 partners spread across its offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Istanbul, and Riyadh. This expansion aligns with Clifford Chance's global M&A practice, which comprises 900 professionals worldwide. The firm's M&A practice offers clients a comprehensive blend of specialized technical knowledge and industry expertise across 12 sectors, ranging from financial services to energy and renewables, and healthcare.
