Drew & Napier, a leading Singapore law firm, has advised the sellers on the S$908 million ($660 million) sale of the Far East Shopping Centre commercial complex in Singapore to Bright Ruby Resources. This sale marks the largest collective sale in the city-state for the current year.
Bright Ruby Resources is an investment company supported by Chinese billionaire Du Shuanghua. The sale and refurbishment of the Far East Shopping Centre, situated at the junction of Orchard Road and Angullia Park in Singapore, is contingent upon obtaining approval from the pertinent authorities.
The Drew & Napier team was headed by Sok Hiang Lau, co-leader of the real estate practice group, alongside April Mak, who holds the position of director. Their efforts received additional support from Benedict Teo, director of the dispute resolution department.
