Taylor Wessing Advised Diamond and Wanfeng on Securing the Future of German Air Taxi Pioneer Volocopter
Taylor Wessing advised Diamond Aircraft and its parent company Wanfeng Auto Holding Group Co. Ltd. on the reorganization of Volocopter, a leading German urban air mobility pioneer, to secure its future. This strategic move allows Diamond Aircraft, a renowned general aviation aircraft manufacturer, to expand its portfolio into electric urban air transport.
Founded in 2007, Volocopter became the first company worldwide to receive a manned flight license from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft.
Bin Chen, Chairman of Diamond Aircraft Group, said : "The future of aviation is shaped by visionaries. Diamond’s broad portfolio is further strengthened by Volocopter, the VoloCity, and future models. Together, we are creating the foundation to further develop sustainable air mobility and strengthen Europe as an innovation hub in aviation."
